Terms and Conditions


Booking Retainer:

A retainer is required to reserve your date, this will be deducted from the over all price of your cake. Payment of the retainer confirms your acceptance of our terms and conditions. Payments can be made via BACS or cash. Payment details will be included in your invoice. In the event of a cancellation, the retainer is non-refundable.

Payments:

Total balances are due 1 week prior to the collection/delivery date for celebration cakes and 4 weeks prior for Wedding cakes. The cake will not be made until the final payment has been received. For large orders such as Wedding cakes we are happy to agree a payment plan, however all outstanding balances must be paid by the agreed date.

Cancellation Policy:

Cakes: If you cancel an order your booking retainer will remain non-refundable in all instances. If you cancel within a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the collection/delivery date for Weddings and 2 weeks for celebration cakes, a 50% refund of any monies paid, other than the retainer fee, will be given. If a cancellation is made after this time no monies will be refunded. In the event of a cancellation due to extenuating circumstances, where notice is given in advance, a transfer to another date may be made at the discretion of Helenmarie Cake Boutique.

Classes: Helenmarie's Cake Boutique reserves the right to cancel or change a class. If we cancel a class a full refund will be given. No refunds or transfers are made if you cancel or do not attend the class. In extenuating circumstances transfers to another class/date are made at the discretion of Helenmarie's Cake Boutique and only if applied for up to 7 working days before the class starts.

In the unlikely case of a class cancellation Helenmarie's Cake Boutique will not be held liable for any costs related to the venue and refunds will be limited to the cost of the class only.

Changes:

You may ask for changes to your cake order up to 6 weeks prior to the delivery /collection date for Weddings and 1 week for celebration cakes. After these dates we cannot accept further changes. Helenmarie Cake Boutique reserves the right to recalculate any revised designs and apply any relevant charges.

Defaults:

In the event of any default to our terms and conditions, failure to agree to our T&C or missed payments, Helenmarie Cake Boutique reserve the right to cancel the order and will advise you accordingly. Any monies payed will be forfeit.

Unavoidable occurrences:

In the event of an unavoidable occurrence, such as car accident, poor road conditions, traffic during delivery, adverse weather conditions etc. Helenmarie Cake Boutique cannot be held liable for more than the cost of the cake ordered.

Delivery and set up:

We offer delivery and set up for all Wedding cake orders within our delivery area. These are charged at 50p per mile, return journey with a standard fee of £5.00, and a standard fee of £25.00 for basic set up, other fees may apply. We will coordinate with you and your venue to schedule a delivery time. The client must provide information as to the location/room the cake will be displayed in, the full name and address of the venue and inform us of any adverse conditions which may lead to the cake being damaged. A representative or nominated staff member must be available to sign off on the delivery and agree that the cake is satisfactory.

Delivery may be available for celebration cakes depending upon time and date, please ask.

Cake stands and decorations:

All cake stands/decorations are supplied for a nominal hire charge, a deposit is required to insure against loss or damage. The deposit is fully refundable upon the safe return of the item. All items must be returned to Helenmarie Cake Boutique within 48 hours after the event, unless agreed otherwise prior to the event. Any late or damaged items will result in the forfeit of the deposit and may incur additional charges. All items must be wiped to remove any loose remnants, but please do not wash them! It is the responsibility of the client to inform the venue of this policy.

Fresh flowers:

If fresh flowers are to be used on the cake, the responsibility of the flowers safety, quality, freshness, colour and safe food practice will rest with the florist and not with Helenmarie Cake Boutique.

Allergies:

We will always endeavour to provide for any special dietary requirements. However we cannot be liable for any products packed or prepared from external sources. Our cakes are made in an environment where nuts, milk, eggs, gluten and other allergens are both used and stored and whilst every measure is taken to avoid cross contamination, we cannot guarantee no trace elements due to air borne particles or other sources. It is the clients responsibility to inform us of any allergies or special requirements and make all guests aware of any risks, Helenmarie Cake Boutique cannot be held liable.

Complaints and Reviews:

We are confident that like all our previous customers that you will be happy with your order, however in the unlikely event that you are in any way dissatisfied, please contact us immediately, so we may attempt to rectify the situation. Or within 24 hours of the event. A refund will only be considered upon the return of the entire cake to us for inspection. If you are unable to return the cake I regret that we would be unable to investigate any potential cause of the issue and therefore unable to issue any form of refund.
